Description
We often get asked about our gorgeous tudor style building. Sometimes truth can be stranger than fiction. So here it is:
Built in 1933 as St Marys Anglican Church Cowes Phillip Island. It was a place of gathering for local farming families. Our beautiful building hosted Weddings, funerals and more. Once decommissioned in 1975 it was sold and this is when things really got interesting. After spending 12 months speaking to locals and historians we’ve found out it has been an Aquarium, Tea rooms, French restaurant, Art Gallery, Irish pub and probably the most fun story a Bikie bar. A story I got from a tow truck driver who came to my rescue recently.
Fair to say our Cheeky Goose Café venue has had a very colourful past. Which, we love to celebrate. Come in and check out the old photos and newspaper articles we were able to find. It’s such a blast from the past.
