After becoming qualified in painting and decorating, working with some of the capital's best painting businesses, Simon developed his craftsmanship knowledge and expertise that led to the beginning of Simco Decorating Painting and Finishes Pty Ltd by 2000.

Simco Decorating is a committee member of the Master Painters Association New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory. In 2019 Simco Decorating won 2 awards at the MPA Awards for Excellence NSW & ACT, winner of ACT Wallcoverings Residential (under 20,000) and Winner of Project of the Year for ACT Residential.
